Full summer mode. Hot afternoons at the beach, warm nights for walking between your room and the party.
Week 3
June 12 – June 18

Week 4
June 19 – June 25

Storms and Lightning
Summer in the Carolinas comes with afternoon and evening thunderstorms. They usually roll through fast, but lightning on the beach is no joke. The National Weather Service’s rule is simple: when thunder roars, go indoors. Get off the sand and out of the water, and wait for the storm to pass.
A few other things worth knowing:
- The Atlantic hurricane season officially starts June 1. Keep an eye on the forecast if you’re traveling during Weeks 2–4.
- After a storm, the surf and currents can stay rough. Check the beach flag before you go back in.
- Theme parties are held at venues — House of Blues and 3001 Nightlife — not on the beach. If weather ever changes plans, call the hotline at 888-523-9076.
The Ocean
By June the water is warm enough that most people spend real time swimming. That also means more time exposed to rip currents. Swim near a lifeguard, never swim alone, and know the escape plan: don’t fight the current, swim parallel to shore, then head in. Our Senior Week safety guide covers the details.

How Weather Shapes Your Day
- Morning: the most comfortable beach hours. Get your swim in.
- Midday: the hottest stretch. Shade, lunch, or a cardholder deal indoors.
- Afternoon: watch the sky. Storms tend to build later in the day.
- Evening: warm and usually comfortable for heading to your party.
A Rainy-Day Backup Plan
If a storm parks over the beach for an afternoon, you’ve still got options. Browse the Club Card partner discounts for food, rides, and shops, or check the activities page for things to book. Then rest up — the night’s theme party is still on the schedule.
