Senior Week Group Chat Rules: Keeping 10 Friends on the Same Page

Simple Senior Week group chat rules: what to pin, how to handle money, nightly plans, end-of-night check-ins, and the unwritten rules that keep peace.

A Senior Week group chat works when it has one pinned message with the essentials, one person handling money, and a few simple rules everyone agrees to before the trip. Without those, ten friends turn into ten different plans by Tuesday. Here is how to keep the chat useful from planning season through the last night.

Before the trip

One chat to rule them all

Make one main chat for the whole crew. Side chats will happen, but decisions belong in the main one. If plans get made somewhere else, someone gets left out.

Pin the essentials

Pin a single message and keep it updated. It should have:

  • Your week and dates (for example, Week 2: June 5 – 11)
  • The address where you are staying
  • Who is driving whom, and when you are leaving
  • The nights you plan to go out, with the venue for each, from the event schedule
  • The Club Card hotline: 888-523-9076

Settle money early

Pick one person to track shared costs. Post the running total in the chat once a week, not once an hour. Make sure everyone has bought their own Club Card for the same week before anything else gets planned around it. Each card is valid only for the week chosen at checkout.

Do the ID check now

Theme parties are 17+ and every person needs valid government-issued photo ID at the door. Ask everyone to confirm in the chat that they have a driver’s license (learner’s permit counts), a state-issued ID, or a U.S. passport or passport card. Better to find out in March than on the sidewalk outside House of Blues.

During the trip

Post the plan for tonight by the afternoon

Each day, someone posts the night’s plan: which party, which venue, what time you are leaving, and the theme. Snowfall means white, LIT Ultra Glow and Neon Splash mean glow gear, Aqua Wet-N-Wild means foam. Check the theme parties page so nobody shows up in the wrong fit.

Use live location, with consent

Ask the group to share location with each other for the week. It makes finding each other at a crowded venue easy and gives everyone peace of mind.

The end-of-night check-in

Set one rule that is non-negotiable: before anyone goes to sleep, they drop a quick message saying they are back. A thumbs-up counts. This one habit prevents a lot of panic.

The unwritten rules

  • No spam during decisions. If the group is voting on something, keep memes out of it for five minutes.
  • Do not post people’s info publicly. Addresses and plans stay in the chat, not on stories.
  • Say it, do not subtweet it. If something is bothering you, message that person directly.
  • Keep an eye on your card. Lost cards are not replaced, so a quick “everyone have their card?” before leaving the room saves nights.

Swap in your own week and nights from the event schedule. Keep it short enough that people actually read it.

When plans change mid-week

They will. Someone is tired, someone wants a different night, the weather turns. A few habits keep it from turning into drama:

  • Post changes in the main chat, not in a side chat. Everyone deserves to know.
  • Give a time, not a vibe. “Leaving at 9” beats “heading out soon.”
  • Never leave someone alone. If the group splits up, make sure nobody ends up solo, and confirm who is going back with whom.
  • Use the planner as the tie-breaker. If the chat cannot decide in ten minutes, the planner calls it.

Tools that help

A shared note or doc for the itinerary, a polls feature for quick decisions, a shared album so everyone gets the photos, and a payment app for splitting costs. Keep it simple: the fewer apps, the better.

Also save the cardholder discounts link in your pinned message. When the group asks “where are we eating?”, you already have a list of places that give Club Card holders a deal.

Keep parents in the loop (without adding them to the chat)

Your parents do not need to be in the crew chat, and honestly, nobody wants that. But a quick separate message to home goes a long way. Send them your week and dates, the address where you are staying, and the hotline number, 888-523-9076. Point them to our rules and info for parents page so they can see the age and ID rules for themselves. A two-minute text before you leave saves a lot of worried calls during the week.

Group chat FAQ

Who should run the group chat?

Whoever is most organized, usually the person who planned the trip. They keep the pinned message current.

What is the one thing to pin?

Your dates, your address, and each night’s venue. If you only pin one thing, pin those.

What if someone loses their card?

Lost cards are not replaced, so prevention is the plan. Remind each other to keep cards in the same safe spot every night.

Chat ready, crew ready. Make sure everyone has their card for the same week.
